In this chapter we consider some examples of focused systems. Of these, some are axially-symmetric and have already been mentioned. In Chapter 7, the parabolic reflector was introduced as an application of the optical path law (§7.3.4). Dielectric lenses were mentioned following the definition of the refractive index of a dielectric medium (see equation (7.13)) — Luneburg, Eaton lenses and geodesic lenses.
