Evidentiary Standards in Sexual Abuse Cases in Nordic Legal Systems

Abstract

Like the other papers addressing the legal system’s response to recollections of trauma, I will begin with some general remarks about the difference between the Anglo-American system and the Nordic system. A very significant difference in the Nordic system is that our judges are legally obliged to seek the truth. I believe that is current for central Europe as well.
