To inform your audience, you have to use language that your audience understands. When you have an audience outside your area of expertise, it is often difficult to find familiar language. Why? Scientists and engineers work on particular crooks of particular ridges of particular mountains, and each mountain has its own special set of terms. These terms may be words or abbreviations:
Plasma Physics: glow discharge MHD
Hemodynamics: immunodeficiency B cells
Spectroscopy: gas chromatography GC/MS
