Abstract

In every NIMH Program Announcement or Request for Applications there is a section entitled “Review Criteria.” A major review criterion is the research experience and competence of the Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team to conduct the proposed research project. Specific issues are the demonstrated expertise of the PI and key personnel, adequacy of the effort devoted to the project, schedule of activities proposed, and staff coverage.
