Abstract

Fruit production in Mexico is a relevant activity for the economy and an invaluable source of food. Fruit is grown in almost all states of the country since the diversity of climate conditions allows a longer harvest period than that obtained in the United States, Canada and Europe. At a world level, Mexican fruit production ranks first in avocado, third in mango, and fifth in citrus.
