UNM Experience with Color Doppler Flow Mapping in Fetal Echocardiography
Fetal Echocardiography has become increasingly important in the evaluation of high risk pregnancies and abnormal fetuses. Over a five year period between June, 1985 and May, 1990, 300 fetal echocardiograms were performed in the Pediatric Echocardiographic Laboratory of the University of New Mexico Hospital. These 300 studies were analyzed as to the indications for, and the results of, the studies. Color Doppler was only available in the Laboratory after September, 1989. Selected cases will be shown during this presentation to demonstrate the utility of color Doppler during fetal echocardiography.
