Self-Avoiding Walks

Abstract

The study of self-avoiding walks arose in chemical physics as a model for long polymer chains. Roughly speaking, a polymer is composed of a large number of monomers which can form together randomly except that the monomers cannot overlap. This restriction is modelled by a self-repulsion term.
