Abstract
Edentulism, once a hallmark of aging, is declining. Data from national surveys (1957–1983) indicate that edentulism among 65- to 74-year-old persons decreased from 55.4% to 34.1%.1–3 This trend is expected to continue as the younger, dentally aware, population ages.
