Abstract

The renal clearance is an important parameter of the drug disposition. It is calculated from the amount of urinary drug per unit time and plasma concentration. Using experimental animals the exact value of renal clearance cannot be determined, because urine is voided spontaneously (Shimoda et al, 198 6). It may be preferable to collect urine and blood at the same time under the continuous urinary flow, but we report here experience based on the chronic ureter cannulation of pigs.
