The Kidney

Abstract

Numerous studies have been published over the past two decades expanding our knowledge of the natural history of renal disease, its epidemiology, and the management and treatment of its various forms. The family physician must be aware of new developments and incorporate this knowledge of renal disease so that he has a good understanding about the patients for whom he remains the primary caretaker and those who should be referred to a nephrologist for care.
