Training of Psychiatric Students to Cope with the Culture of Their Area
Although I am at present a Consultant Psychiatrist in the United Kingdom, I have spent three-quarters of my professional life working in Africa and only one-quarter in the United Kingdom. I have been deeply involved in most of the psychiatric activities and development in Africa during 1957 – 1975, and therefore I find myself in an advantageous position to give briefly the fruits of my experience and venture to give some guidelines for the future.
