Heat Treatment of Cast Ti-6A1-4V Alloy
Most industrial machinery, particularly blowers and pumps, possess high speed rotating parts, and recently these parts have been urged to be made in smaller size with the intent to improve their spinning speed and reliability. It is very effective to utilize titanium alloys which have high strength-to-density ratios for such parts operating at a high centrifugal force. These parts are usually in very complicated shapes which make machining almost impossible so that precision casting is required.
