Abstract

Among the various subspecialities of biology, radiobiology has attracted perhaps the most extensive interest of physicists. Some of the most fundamental contributions to radiobiology have been made by physicists and even engineers who became completely engrossed in the subject and its biological ramifications to such an extent that it is often not realized that they started their career in nuclear physics or electrical engineering.
