Specific Aspects of Geomagnetobiology
Living organisms are closely linked with their environment. Hence the functional-dynamic properties of any organism depend on its adaptation to the conditions of existence, which is the basis of the homeostasis of living things. By this term we mean the dynamic unity and equilibrium formed between the living organism and the environment with its numerous factors. Until recently temperature, air humidity, and light intensity—in short, the set of factors included in the concept of meteorological environmental conditions—were regarded as the main external factors implicated in the homeostasis of living organisms. The effects of this set of factors on the biology of the living organism, particularly man, have been the subject of many scientific publications in the form not only of papers, but also of comprehensive monographs (100, 529, 672, 1110, 1178).
