Origin of Spin

Abstract

Last August, Alan Krisch invited me to the symposium on High Energy Physics with Polarized Beams and Polarized Targets in Argonne National Laboratory to present a paper on my work concerning the structure of elementary particles and its relation to spin. Experiments by Krisch, et. al.,1 with polarized proton beams scattered from polarized targets pointed to a strong possibility that protons do have an inner structure with different interaction regions. Their experimental data provided a basic support for the significant role of spin-spin forces at high energy scattering.
