Philosophy of Research: New Projects in Mössbauer Spectroscopy of Systems with Weak Magnetic Interactions

Abstract

This paper deals with some basic philosophies of the author concerning “research” versus “investigation” and emphasize a need for developing Mössbauer spectroscopy as a “problem-oriented” reseach tool. A brief survey of dia-, para-, and anti-ferromagnetism is peesented and specific research problems to which Mössbauer spectroscopy can be (or has been) applied are discussed. These include coordination and organometallic compounds.
