EPR of Low-Dimensional Systems

  • Chapter
Low-Dimensional Cooperative Phenomena

Part of the book series: Nato Advanced Study Institutes Series ((NSSB,volume 7))

Abstract

This paper will be broken down into four major sections: (1) a brief introduction to electron paramagnetic resonance (epr) studies in magnetically concentrated systems, (2) a discussion of epr studies of dimer, trimer and higher order clusters, particularly those involving transition metal ion complexes and the relationship of these studies to one and two dimensional systems,(3) epr studies of semi-dilute systems and finally, (4) a review of selected epr studies of one and two dimensional transition metal ion systems. The choice of topics is intended to provide not only an introduction to low dimensional epr studies for people of limited background in this area but also to provide some background materials for other speakers whose interests are related to these topics.
