NMR Studies of the Peierls Transition in One Dimensional Metals

Abstract

Nuclear magnetic resonance, using the nuclei as probes of their local environment provides information on the electronic and atomic properties: susceptibility of the electron gas, and electric field gradient at the nucleus. Both the static and low frequency dynamic properties can be studied respectively by C.W. or transient NMR experiments.
