Relationship between Iodine Value and Phase Transition Temperature in Natural Hydrogenated Phospholipids

Abstract

The ability of phospholipids which make up liposomal bilayers to retain entrapped drug in the aqueous spaces might be altered by their phase transition temperature (Tc), since it is well known that drug leakage is markedly reduced if liposomes are kept at a storage temperature below the Tc of these phospholipids.
