Influence of Malnutrition on Lactose in Children Who Belong to Genetically Lactose Tolerant or Intolerant Tribes in Central Africa
Lactose malabsorption was studied in children of Central Africa. Three groups were investigated. The children of groups I and II belonged to a “lactose intolerant” tribe. Their age was below 5 years in group I and above 5 years in group II. The children of group III, aged less than 5 years, belonged to a tribe in which mixing of “lactose tolerant” (Tutsi) and “lactose intolerant” (Bantus) people is important.
