Computer Graphics Used for Architectural Design and Costing

Abstract

The West Sussex County Council has been using various computer applications for a number of years. Under the direction of Bernard Peters, the County Architect, the Department of Architecture has been accelerating the evolution of computer techniques to assist the designer and his colleagues in the building team since it first produced a bill of quantities programme about two years ago.

Biographical Note

  1. P. E. Walter, A.R.I.B.A., has been engaged in Local Government service for some 22 years and is well experienced in the design and construction of local authority buildings using traditional “system” methods of construction. He is currently working as a member of a small team whose task is to produce a comprehensive system employing computer techniques, including man/machine conversations as an aid to design and management of building projects.Google Scholar
