Mechanical Behavior of High Polymers — Overview and Historic Remarks

  • Turner AlfreyJr.

The widespread use of organic polymers is based upon the diversity of mechanical behaviors exhibited by these materials under conditions of use and fabrication. The range of mechanical properties, in turn, results from the multiple diversity of possible molecular structures (chemical compositions and molecular architectures).
