Advances in computers and computer software have changed the warehousing industry as they have so many other service industries.1 Today, one need know practically nothing about computer programming to make very effective use of a computer. Though the capacity of hardware in relation to its size has increased exponentially, this larger capacity allows use of software that is increasingly simple or “user friendly.”
