Microphone Electrical Specifications and Accessories

In addition to the acoustical properties of microphones there are many electrical aspects which the recording engineer must be aware of. Chief among these are microphone sensitivity, impedance, self-noise level, and distortion at high operating levels. These will be discussed along with aspects of remote powering of capacitor microphones. Microphone accessories will be covered as well.
