Special Techniques in Signal Processing

Abstract

This chapter will discuss signal processing methods and techniques that do not so neatly fit into the subject areas of the three preceding chapters. Some of the techniques to be discussed are rather complex and may not be routinely accessible to the engineer; however, the engineer should know how they work and what useful things can be accomplished with them. The following techniques will be discussed: phasing, voltage controlled devices, out-of-band signal generation, pitch and tempo regulation, chorus generation, vocoders, advanced imaging methods, noise removal, and signal reconstruction.
