Canadian Research War Gaming Methodology

  • W. P. Doyle

Abstract

Research war gaming has been conducted in Canada in support of the Land Forces since 1959. Since that time there have been many changes in the roles, tasks, doctrine, organization and equipment of the Forces. Hence, since 1959 a variety of war games have been designed and utilized to assist in the evaluation of the impact and effects of change. By such evaluations the war games have played their part in shaping the decisions affecting Land Force capabilities for a variety of missions.
