Abstract
When a Divisional-level war game was set up to study the use of barriers on the battlefield it was decided to aggregate all aspects of the battle which were not directly related to the subject of the study. In particular, artillery would be played as a simple simulation in which the artillery units were considered in bulk, with a minimal input required from the commander. In this simulation, the commanders would be given a number of available batteries for the next 5 minute time period, based on the current state of battle, the previous usage of artillery, and the commanders’ requests for artillery support.
