Ageing and the Loss of Auditory Neuroepithelium in the Guinea Pig
A general feature of an ageing process in postmitotic cells is a reduction in the number of these cells during the lire of an individual. One of the most convenient materials for the study of this decrease in number of cells and its dependence on age is the sensory neuroepithelium of the hearing organ, represented by hair cells.
