Abstract

Two different types of charge coupled devices with different applications to acoustic imaging and holography have been developed and are being tested. One device is known as the Charge Coupled Processor (CCP) whose function is to provide signal preconditioning for parallel arrays and output a series of DC signals which can be used to reconstruct the target field. The other device is the Cascade Charge Coupled Device (C3D), an analog lens device which performs beamsteering by changing the CCD clock frequencies to vary the effective delay line lengths of many parallel channels behind the detecting elements.
