Dosimetry of Electromagnetic Fields for the Assessment of Their Effects on Man and Animals

  • A. S. Presman

The problem of dosimetry of EmFs in biological and medical investigations involves three main questions:
  1. 1.

What physical quantities should be chosen for the evaluation of the intensity of the EmF in relation to the conditions and aim of the investigations?

  2. 2.

What is the relation between the intensity of the EmF measured in the medium surrounding the living object and the “biologically effective” intensity acting directly on the object?

  3. 3.

What techniques and instruments can be used to measure the intensity of EmFs acting on man and in experiments with animals?
