Abstract

Modelling real problems or systems by means of classical mathematics very often leads to problems. Especially if the problem contains human or social components the following difficulties arise: Most areas of mathematics and EDP computers are based on a dichotomous structure (yes/no etc.). Real human or social systems, however, are more complex, need wider “scales” than “yes” or “no” and are sometimes very badly approximated by mathematical models.
