Abstract

Claude-cycle cryogenic refrigerators require counterflow heat exchangers having an extremely high thermal effectiveness. Miniature systems also require very small heat exchanger volume, which is difficult to achieve along with high effectiveness. Such heat exchangers must possess all of the following characteristics.
