Abstract
Welcome to Aspen and to the FASEB Conference on the computer as a research tool in the life sciences. I want personally to thank the members of the Steering Committee, the Program Committee, and the FASEB Staff for their diligent and constructive work toward the aim of a successful meeting, and the funding agencies for their encouragement and support. We are also indebted to Dr. Donald King of the Given Institute for allowing us to meet here. The real success of such a meeting will naturally be attributable to you—the speakers and the participants.
