Externally Bonded and Sealed Insulation for Liquid-Hydrogen-Fueled Rocket Tanks
Rockets and spacecraft using liquid hydrogen as fuel need insulation on the tanks during flight through atmospheres to restrict the rapid flow of heat into the hydrogen. The type and amount of such insulation depend entirely on the specific vehicle and flight program. The NASA has made a limited experimental study of such insulation design problems.
