Mechanical Properties of Four Austenitic Stainless Steels at Temperatures Between 300° and 20°K

Abstract

As part of a general program determining the effect of the martensitic transformation on some mechanical properties of austenitic stainless steels, four alloys were tested at temperatures down to 20°K. These alloys were annealed USS Tension, AM 350, AISI202, and AISI304. With the exception of A1S1 304 there are few low-temperature mechanical property data available for these alloys.
