Abstract
The object of this work was to determine realistic standards of cleanliness in systems containing liquid and gaseous oxygen. An arbitrary figure of 4 mg/ft2 [1] had been set by examination of systems that had caused no trouble in the past. It was felt that this figure was too low and that experimental determination of the safe level should be made to set such standards.
This study was supported by the U.S. Air Force under Contract No. AF 33(616)–6730.
