An Automatic Liquid Nitrogen Distribution System for Twenty-Five Cold Traps
The filling of individual liquid nitrogen cold traps manually or automatically from 50-liter dewars had been standard practice since 1951 at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory’s accelerator facility. Many LN2 traps are employed in the high-vacuum system between the oil diffusion pumps and the high vacua required in the accelerator beam tubes.
