Abstract
This is a composite chapter. Its purpose is on the one hand to review the principal methods which have been used to measure the Hall effect in metals, and on the other hand to consider Hall effect measurements made in “unusual” circumstances. Such an arrangement is convenient since these two topics are evidently not unrelated; an unusual measurement, such as one made at high pressure or upon a liquid sample, will in general require a special experimental technique.
