Abstract

Light structures are used for many agricultural and industrial needs. They are characterized by one- or two-story configuration, moderate spans, and light to moderate superimposed loads. Construction costs must be carefully controlled to maintain a profitable relationship between capital cost and income from use of the structures. Often, they are built according to standard plans and utilize mass-produced frames and other structural components.
