Abstract

Deficiency of purine nucleoside Phosphorylase (PNP) is causally associated with a cellular immunodeficiency manifested by lymphopenia and severely decreased to negative proliferative lymphocyte responses towards mitogens (among others phytohaemagglutinin (PHA)), antigens and allogeneic cells (1).
