Theoretical Aspects of Bonding in Organosilicon Chemistry

Abstract

A comparison of the organic chemistry of carbon and of silicon, respectively, will show the close chemical similarity of the two elements in numerous ways [1]. Despite this similarity, differences do appear, and in some cases the differences are so remarkable that they become a dominant feature in the chemistry of a given element.
