NMR Spectroscopy in The Investigation and Analysis of Carbon-Functional Organosilicon Compounds

  • Jan Schraml
Part of the Modern Inorganic Chemistry book series (MICE)

Abstract

A decade ago, a review of the literature on organosilicon compounds [1], which covered approximately 15,000 papers since 1823, identified only some 1,400 papers on the NMR spectroscopy of organosilicon compounds. Of these, only a few were concerned with carbon-functional organosilicon compounds. It was obvious that rapid progress was to be expected in this field, and the past decade has indeed shown a considerable increase in interest in carbon-functional compounds, an interest that is also documented in the other chapters of this volume.
