Electronic Theory of Segregation in Small Bimetallic Clusters

Abstract

Surface segregation in bimetallic cubooctahedral and icosahedral clusters is studied within a simple tight-binding model. Results for equilibrium concentrations on different inequivalent sites in the cluster are given for Cu-Ni and Cu-Ru alloy clusters at various temperatures.
