Computer Analysis of Trussed Domes
The following analysis of a steel dome is illustrated by solving a specific problem, using the powerful computer program that is internationally known and available world wide wherever IBM services are provided. The System STRUDL II was originally developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and it is still available, although new upgraded versions are also offered such as the one by Georgia Tech. The problem is presented to the attention of the reader as a simple analytical tool and can be applied by following the step-by-step sequence illustrated hereafter.
