Approaches for Effective Prevention Work in Public Schools
Today, most school structures still fail to provide adequate alternatives for students using drugs. A general mistrust for social service agencies and an unwillingness to accept input from community based organizations, makes it nearly impossible to promote a comprehensive prevention project within a community school. It is often a waste of energy to go through the “proper” channels to become part of the educational and personal process of students in a public school system.
