Abstract

In this paper we examine the problem of determination of the nucleation rate I and the growth rate c of spherical particles of a new phase (glassy or crystalline) in glass from the experimentally found distribution of circular sections of the spheres in the plane of a section of a heterogeneous specimen. Suppose that phase conversion in glass (at a definite temperature) is being studied from an instant τ= 0.
