Spatially Inhomogeneous Solid-State Plasma in External Fields
One of the first of the papers that stimulated the intensive investigations of plasma effects in semiconductors was . This paper showed that in a gas plasma with a current in a sufficiently strong magnetic field the so-called helical instability can develop if the conductivity is inhomogeneous over the plasma cross section. This paper was followed by a great many investigations, both theoretical and experimental, in which the possible manifestation of a helical instability in the electron-hole plasma of a solid was investigated. These investigations are reviewed in [8–10].
