Glycerophospholipids

  • John D. Weete

Abstract

Glycerophospholipids are ubiquitous to living organisms, forming an essential structural component of biological membranes (see Chapter 2). Much has been written about the formation and properties of naturally-occurring and non-biological membranes, or lipid bilayers, in which the major lipid component is phospholipids.
