A Study of the Coherent Interaction of Pulsed Infrared Radiation with Molecular Gases

Abstract

The coherent interactions of CO2 laser light with the molecular gases BC13 and SF6 are studied experimentally. Such characteristics of these gases as the homogeneous widths of absorption transition lines, transition dipole moments, the relative number of particles involved in absorption, and so on, are found. Some conclusions are drawn about the types of transitions studied.
