Design of Ships for the Transport of Spent Nuclear Fuels

Pacific Nuclear Transport Ltd. (PNTL) operates a small fleet of ships for the carriage of spent nuclear fuels.

Some details are presented - including aspects of the hull design, power plant, operation, safety and reliabiltiy - to provide an over-view of the vessel design.

The reference design cited is the ‘Pacific Pintail’ - the latest addition to the fleet.
